Tyrolean Painted Chest Technical information: Period: second half of the 1700s Provenance: Tyrol Essence: Spruce Height: 84 cm Width: 137 cm Depth: 55 cm Description: Fir wood chest, made in the late 18th century. The frame has a front punctuated by three squared panels, each decorated with geometric and shaped motifs executed by engraving and enriched with fillets painted in dark tones, with chromatic matches in red along the uprights and frames. The upper top, hinged at the rear with wrought-iron hardware, is slightly projecting from the body. The front is set on a shaped base with a mixtilinear profile, further decorated with painted scroll motifs, integrated into the wooden surface. The interior is divided by a small side bulkhead, intended to separate the contained objects, according to a functional typology widespread in the 18th century. The hardware, which is original, includes handcrafted hinges and shaped iron spout. Work carried out on all our furniture: - Structural restoration: restoration of small missing parts, closing any cracks on the back, consolidation of deteriorated areas, inspection and repair of the hardware. - Thorough woodworm treatment. - Interior cleaning and sanitizing. - Exterior finishing with natural beeswax. - Interior finishing with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish. Customization: Upon request, arrangements can be made: - the degree of restoration desired; - the customization of the interior (addition of hanging poles, shelves, dividers, etc.).
