Description and details
Oil on canvas painting signed lower right by Joseph-Eugène Gilbault "1848-1936" depicting still life with fruit, where bunches of grapes with leaves and shoots are depicted. Of particular note is the stroke of light that highlights the two carefully painted bunches and the minutely portrayed details such as the droplets of water on the leaves and berries, depicting a realistic image . The de facto artist is well known for his still lifes, often depicted, with fruit, in a classic and detailed style. His works are often presented as botanical portraits or compositions of fruit against mossy backgrounds, as is evident in the painting in question. Finally, the painting is placed in its original frame made of wood gilded with pure gold, still in its original condition, but we must note a small intervention that was carried out in earlier times in the lower part.
