Large late 17th-century early 18th-century polychrome terracotta sculpture depicting St. Onofrio. Classic depiction of the hermit with long hair and beard , covered by a vegetal loincloth. At his feet is a doe , a classic depiction found in sculptures of St. Onofrio, which stands for the hermit and penitential life. To be highlighted is the great skill in his depiction and the attention to detail in the sculpture such as the hair, beard, and well-defined anatomy of the body. St. Onofrio is venerated as an intercessor for the finding of lost things. EPOCA late 17th century early 18th century.
