Description and details
An 18th-century tempera-on-canvas painting, attributable to the Veneto area, it is in the characteristic shaped format typical of decorative overhead elements. The architectural composition depicts a rural landscape ennobled by an ancient tower and a single-arch bridge, under which flows a waterfall rendered with vibrant touches. The foreground is enlivened by figurines of wayfarers and a hunter with dog, delineated with compendious rapidity. The 'work, measuring 108x107 cm, retains its coeval shaped and gilded frame. Painting from a private collection of a Venetian family.
