Description and details
Important riser made of carved wood gilded with gold leaf, probably used as a liturgical or ornamental piece of furniture. The decoration features rocaille motifs and curling scrolls, with lattice work on the central stem and acanthus leaves at the base of the capital. The smooth, slightly fluted circular top is suitable for supporting a sculpture, vase, or small column. The original gilding shows a lived patina with signs of time that confirm the authenticity and age of the object.
