Age: 19th century Provenance: England Material: rosewood, velvet, bone, mother-of-pearl Dimensions: Width: 34.5 cm Height: 18 cm Depth: 23.5 cm Fine rosewood lady's box, made in England in the mid-19th century, embellished with a polished finish and an elegant central light wood inlay on the lid. The interior, lined in green velvet with gilt decoration, holds a fascinating array of accessories typical of toiletry boxes of the period: various glass containers, toiletry instruments with bone and mother-of-pearl handles, carefully organized storage compartments. The lower part features a jewelry drawer, also lined in velvet, with shaped spaces for jewelry, bracelets and other small valuables. The lid also includes a letter pocket in draped green fabric, a detail of great elegance and functionality. Equipped with a working lock with original key. An object of charm and refinement, ideal for collectors or as a valuable piece of furniture.
