Description and details
Elegant group of six Biedermeier chairs in blond walnut, made in the first half of the 19th century and characterized by the unmistakable shaped open back with a central motif of opposing scrolls, typical of the best Austro-German production of the period. The line is sober and refined, a perfect expression of Biedermeier taste, which favors balanced proportions, quality of wood and elegance of form over excessive ornamentation. The warm blond walnut grain gives the ensemble a remarkable luminosity and makes these chairs particularly versatile in furnishing classic and contemporary interiors. The six chairs are preserved in excellent overall condition, with solid and stable frames. The seats are upholstered with small-stitch embroidered fabric decorated with polychrome floral motifs, all different from each other, a detail that adds charm and sophistication to the ensemble. The upholstery is still usable but could benefit from a slight reinstatement for maximum comfort.A quality set, increasingly difficult to find complete and homogeneous, ideal for furnishing a dining room, a study or a period home.MeasurementsHeight: 94.5 cmWidth: 46 cmDepth: 44 cmCurrent seat height: 47 cm
