Pencil drawing depicting a portrait of Cesare Altoviti, by Antonio Ciseri, signed on the left and dated July 6, 1871; original. In a wooden frame with glass - Original work - frame dimensions 48 x 38 cm, drawing dimensions 39 cm x 26 cm ANTONIO CISERI He was born in Ronco sopra Ascona, in the Canton of Ticino, on October 25, 1821. In 1833, he moved to Florence. C. was immediately placed in private drawing lessons with his first teacher, who was likely Emesto Buonaiuti, and he always remained uninvolved in the activities of the Florentine workshop run by his father and paternal grandfather, Francesco Antonio, descendants of a family with a long tradition of working in Florence in the field of interior decoration. C.’s formal education began in 1834, when he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
