Beautiful work by Neapolitan painter Salvatore Balsamo first two decades of the 20th century- Oil on canvas -Gilded pastille frame of the period with small faults- mis.tela 80 x 42 cm - frame 95 x 57 cm Salvatore Balsamo (Naples, 1894 - Naples, 1922) was an Italian painter. He trained in his hometown under Vincenzo Irolli, Giuseppe Casciaro and Eugenio Scorzelli; he died at only twenty-eight, leaving little biographical information. He distinguished himself as a landscape painter with a robust and spontaneous stroke, influenced by the masters and the works of Nicolas De Corsi. His works are preserved in the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan and in the art collections of the Cariplo Foundation.
