Description and details

Marine view with a modern slant, in which the foreground is occupied by moored boats, outlined with bold strokes and vivid color fields. The boats, characterized by simplified geometric shapes and contrasting colors such as yellow, red, green and black, are silhouetted against a backdrop of blue water, with barely noticeable harbor elements. To the right, a large red buoy serves as a visual focal point, balancing the composition. The work, executed in pastel, uses the strength of the mark to define the forms, with a use of black line that structures the image and contrasts with areas of solid color. The paper is mounted on a tablet, giving rigidity and protection to the surface. The silver-plated wooden frame with gilded inserts and canvas passe-partout is coeval or close to the period of execution, in keeping with the style of the work. Painting size: 55 x 40cm Framed size: 76 x 62cm
