French Travel Clock with Alarm – Early 20th Century An elegant French travel clock, also known as a “marescialla” or “pendule d’officier,” dating from the early 20th century. It features a refined gilded brass case with classic architectural lines, embellished with a sculpted top handle and large glass panels that allow one to admire the mechanical movement inside. The white enamel dial features black Arabic numerals and slender hands made of burnished steel. At the bottom is a second small dial for setting the alarm. The mechanical movement is visible through the side and top glass panels, which also allow one to observe the balance wheel. Of particular interest is its travel case, covered on the outside with a leather-effect material featuring geometric decoration and lined on the inside with red velvet, complete with a key.
