Elegant lacquered and chinoiserie-decorated mirror, made in the first half of the 20th century, inspired by 18th-century models of orientalizing taste.The frame, made of shaped wood and painted in dark green lacquer, is finely embellished with hand-gilded decorations depicting oriental-inspired scenes: characters in traditional dress, pagodiform architecture, stylized vegetation and floral motifs. The upper cyma features a fine figured scene that lends great movement and decorative value to the whole.The central mirror is original to the period (with normal signs of time), set in an interior frame embellished with gilded geometric and floral motifs.
