Description and details
Elegant Chinese white porcelain vase of slender form with flared neck and slightly shaped foot. The surface is decorated in polychrome glazes with a lively scene depicting children (motif known as "one hundred children") playing around a tree, a traditional symbolic theme associated with prosperity and numerous offspring. The pictorial rendering is fine and detailed, with bright, well-preserved colors. The work falls within the typical style of Chinese production intended for export during the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
