Description and details
Venetian view with boats moored in the foreground, featuring sails on the third in warm ochre, red, and orange tones. The arrangement of the boats creates a diagonal perspective that guides the eye toward the lagoon center, where buildings and bell towers stand out against a veiled sky. The surface of the water reflects the hues of the sails and architecture in a fragmented way, with a painterly treatment that alternates more compact brushstrokes with quick touches to suggest ripples and movement. The work, created on cardboard, presents a balanced color scheme between the warm tones of the sails and the cool tones of the water and sky, with a luministic rendering that restores the typical atmosphere of the Venetian lagoon. The gilded carved frame, in traditional taste, is consistent with the exhibition destination and close to the period of execution. Dimensions of the painting: 45.5 x 31.5cm Dimensions with frame: 56 x 42.5cm
