Description and details
Large scene with farm animals in architectural landscape Important oil painting on canvas depicting a lively scene with farmyard animals - turkeys, ducks, pheasants, and various birds - set in an elegant landscape context with classical architecture and water basin, according to a fully 18th-century taste. The composition, articulate and balanced, shows remarkable attention to the naturalistic rendering of the animals, described with anatomical accuracy and chromatic sensitivity, harmoniously set in an Arcadian taste landscape, with tree backdrops, blurred sky and stone buildings in the background. The warm, diffuse light contributes to a calm and refined atmosphere. On the back of the canvas is an ancient attribution attestation that traces the work to the painter Felice Boselli, a leading figure in early 18th-century Lombard painting, famous for his still lifes and scenes with animals. Although no definitive critical documentation is available at the moment, the stylistic characteristics, pictorial quality and iconographic setting are consistent with the cultural and figurative scope of the master and his circle. A work of remarkable decorativeness and strong scenic presence, it is particularly suitable for collectors and amateurs of Lombard painting of the 18th century, as well as for classical and elegant furnishing contexts. Oil on canvas Canvas dimensions: 89 × 71 cm Dimensions with frame: 100.5 × 84.5 cm Conservation status: good, with normal signs of time compatible with the age of the work.
