Description and details
A refined set consisting of three original etchings by Mosè Bianchi, one of the most important Italian painters and engravers of the second half of the 19th century. The lot includes three of the most representative subjects from his repertoire:*Mother and Son*, an intense scene of daily life set in the lagoon region, rendered with a free and vibrant line and an extraordinary sensitivity to light.*La Scuffina*, an evocative portrait of a woman in which Bianchi achieves a graphic synthesis of great expressive power. *Pifferaio Abruzzese*, a famous depiction of a street musician, executed with just a few essential yet extraordinarily effective strokes, exemplifying the artist’s full maturity as an engraver. The three etchings form a cohesive set of particular interest to collectors, effectively representing the variety of themes addressed by Mosè Bianchi and the excellence of his engraving technique.Artist: Mosè Bianchi (1840–1904)Technique: original etchingsPublisher: Calcografia Antonio Fusetti, MilanPlate dimensions:Mother and Son: 13.5 × 18 cmLa Scuffina: 9 × 12.5 cm “Pifferaio Abruzzese”: 17 × 12 cm Condition: excellent, with generous margins and the Calcografia Fusetti stamp.
