Themes dear to the artist are the pine forests of Ardenza, near Livorno, gardens, flowers,country roads and the seabed. In 1903, 1913, 1924, and 1952 he participated in the Venice Biennle, and in 1914 in the Rome Internazionale. In 1920 together with other Leghorn artists he founded the "Gruppo Labronico" of which he was president from 1943 to 1962. In 1926 and 1927 he was present at the 80th National Exposizine of Palazzo Pitti in Florence.
