The object is an antique tabernacle door, an element of sacred art typically made of carved and gilded wood. Main Features Iconography: The central panel depicts the Sacred Heart of Jesus surrounded by a golden halo. This motif is a classic symbol of the Eucharist and devotion commonly found in sacred furnishings. Materials and Technique: It is made of carved wood, with a gold leaf finish and a dark background over a green patina to highlight the relief. Structural Elements: On the right side, the remains of the original metal hinges that allowed the door to open are visible, while on the left is the keyhole. Historical Period: 17TH CENTURY. The craftsmanship and style of the halo suggest it was made during the Baroque period. These doors closed off the small niche (tabernacle) usually located at the center of the altar, where the consecrated hosts are kept. H 29.5 CM – W 15 CM – D 3 CM
