An interesting oil painting on panel by the Abruzzo painter Tito Pellicciotti (1871–1950), depicting a cobbler hard at work in his workshop.The scene, with its folk character, is rendered with great attention to detail: the craftsman’s worn clothes, his shoes, the tools scattered on the floor, and the numerous objects arranged on the table all contribute to creating a lively, atmospheric everyday setting.Particularly well-executed is the figure of the protagonist, captured in a moment of concentration while working, in keeping with the genre painting and depictions of everyday life that constitute a characteristic part of Pellicciotti’s oeuvre. In good overall condition, with normal signs of aging consistent with its age.
