An elegant Russian icon from the late 19th century, depicting Christ Pantocrator, based on one of the most representative models of the Orthodox iconographic tradition.Christ is depicted in full face, with his right hand raised in a gesture of blessing and his left hand holding an open Gospel bearing inscriptions in Cyrillic script. His finely rendered face stands out against the luminous gold background, embellished with engraved ornamental work.The decoration surrounding the figure is particularly rich: a wide band featuring polychrome plant and floral motifs rendered in enamel, alternating with small ornamental elements and crosses placed in the upper corners. The cruciform halo also features refined decoration, contributing to the overall splendor of the work.
