Rocking Horse for Children - Early 20th Century

Delightful rocking horse for children, made of wood and hand-painted, dating from the early decades of the 20th century. The little horse, mounted on a tilting base, still has the original polychromy with traces of wear and tear testifying to its authenticity and its lived-in feel. The sculpture, in naïve taste, depicts a galloping horse with saddle and harness colored in shades of blue, yellow and red. The antique patina and light paint craquelure lend great period charm to the object.
