Description and details
Pair of Sienese mirrors in gilded wood – First half of the 19th century An elegant pair of Sienese-made mirrors from the first half of the 19th century, originating from a prominent historic palace in Siena. Crafted from finely carved wood gilded with pure gold, they stand out for the richness and refinement of their carving, featuring elaborate volutes, scrolls, and floral motifs that reflect the decorative taste of the era. The mirrors retain the charm and elegance of the furnishings found in the ancient noble residences of Siena, from which they originate. Both are equipped with a two-light candlestick arm, which was later electrified. They can be used either as simple decorative mirrors or as wall sconces, combining an ornamental function with that of lighting.
