Description and details
Pair of sculptures depicting putti, made of carved and gilded wood, probably belonging to a liturgical or ecclesiastical decoration. The figures, depicted in motion and with gilded draperies, show obvious signs of wear and gaps in the gilding, consistent with the period of their making. Traces of original polychromy are still visible, particularly on the face and bust. The proportions and style are reminiscent of 19th-century Italian Baroque production, with emphasis on dynamic rendering and a sense of lightness typical of decorative motifs in the sacred sphere.
