Lombard Venetian chest, first half of the 1600s, made of solid walnut wood. Valuable early 17th-century walnut wedding chest. The fine front features a "braid knot" perimeter frame, which, goes to accent an aristocratic coat of arms carved with floral motifs. The openwork slippers, wrought-iron handles, as well as coeval key and lock, underscore the extraordinary state of preservation of this specimen. Dimensions (cm): Larg 160, Prof 51, H 59.
