Large decorative wall plate in embossed and polychrome copper, Persia (present-day Iran), late 19th century. The piece features a refined decoration in the Oriental style, with a central vase from which elegant floral and plant motifs radiate, populated by a pair of birds facing each other. The composition, which displays remarkable ornamental balance, is enriched by a vibrant polychrome palette in shades of turquoise, blue, yellow, and black—colors traditionally used in Persian decorative arts.The decoration is applied to an embossed copper base, with the design also rendered in relief on the reverse side—a feature that attests to the quality of the craftsmanship.
