Description and details
An elegant polychrome porcelain sculpture by Giuseppe Cappè (1921–2008), depicting the Madonna and Child with cherubs. The Virgin is shown standing, with a slender and graceful figure, as she gently cradles the Child in her arms. At her feet, two small cherubs enliven the composition, lending it movement and lightness. Particularly refined is the rendering of the faces, with their soft and delicate features, as well as the elegant drapery of the Madonna’s robe, rendered in shades of red and embellished with gold accents. The glossy surface of the porcelain and the delicacy of the skin tones contribute to the remarkable elegance of the piece as a whole. The composition, harmonious and finely modeled, depicts a religious subject interpreted by Cappè with particular delicacy and decorative sensitivity. A highly pleasing piece of porcelain, elegant both for the quality of its modeling and for its refined polychromatic design. Dimensions: Height: 25 cm; Maximum width: 11 cm; Base diameter: 6.5 cm
