Description and details
Important carved and gilded wooden base dating from the 17th century, probably part of a small domestic altar or devotional complex. The front is embellished with an elegant finely carved winged cherub, inserted within volutes and ornamental motifs typical of Baroque taste. The gilding, still largely original, has a pleasant antique patina with natural wear and slight falls that attest to its authenticity and use over time. The upper part is shaped like a crescent moon, designed to accommodate a small statue, bust or sacred object. An object with a strong decorative impact, suitable both for collectors of sacred art and as a fine piece of furniture in classical or eclectic settings.
