Late 18th-century Lombard chest of drawers, veneered in striped walnut and inlaid. Refined Louis XVI-style chest of drawers (1774–92) of Lombard origin, entirely veneered with various types of fine woods, such as walnut, rosewood, cherry, and maple. Amid the “herringbone” and fillet motifs, there are two rosettes depicting a goblet supported by cartouches with acanthus leaves, embellished using the fire-shading technique.
